This allows the sites to give you surveys that it you. The more information they have, they higher the likelyhood of you recieving a survey. Sign-up for as many sites as you can. The more survey groups you sign up for the more opportunities to fill out surveys. Don't give up! Many sites will give their higher paying surveys to their more seasoned surveyors. So hang in there. You may start with surverys in the $5 to %10 range, but they can be $25, $40 even $100.00 range depending on the company. Don't restrict yourself to only survery companies that pay cash. Many survery sites will give away points and raffles for large prizes. It's not cash, but normally the prizes are very nice. Never pay money to take a survey or recieve a list of surveys!!!! Remember, you are providing these companies with a much needed service. You should never have to pay any of them a dime. The legitimate sites will never ask you for money.
